We ate an evening meal here which was excellent. We both chose the steak and ale pie with chips and vegetables. The meat in the pie was really good; very tender and tasty. We didn’t stay in the hotel so can’t comment on the rooms.

We stopped here for one night as a half way to some where else ( too close to home to be real) and found a green. We were in room 17 which is a new large room well appointed and a bit quirky but the food was excellent. Our dinner was steak , with chicken tenders and Cullen skin as starters. We didn’t have dessert as we didn’t have room for it. Highly recommended with a great lounge, very lively bar and large portions for food. Excellent

Cruden Bay mainstay. The staff here is incredible. Love this type of hotel, common to Scotland. They have very good accommodations, good food, wonderful service, convenient location, attentive staff, all at reasonable prices. The location is just down the street from the Cruden Bay Golf Club and you can walk to Slains Castle. This was great find for us as we traveled through Scotland on golf excursion. Our hats off to the ladies of Kilmarnock, well done with great hospitality.

The Bram Stoker Hotel? We enjoyed our recent stay in the Kilmarnock Arms. We had a very spacious ground floor room which also had a stable door to an outdoor patio area. The bed was Super king-size, the bathroom modern with walk in shower. The bedroom was renovated to modern standards but we enjoyed the way much older furniture was used too. There was an old writing bureau desk. We found ourselves wondering did Bram Stoker use it when he wrote the first few chapters of 'Dracula' on his yearly holiday to the hotel? There is an informative board on the gable end of the hotel about him and identifying places in Cruden Bay he visited and used in the novel. The hotel could make more of this. We enjoyed our breakfast in the old dining room of the hotel. Especially as we were served at our table by a very good waitress. None of the now usual scrum to get your own tea, toast and breakfast! It would have been good to have the option of the dining room in the evening too, instead of eating in the lounge bar. Cruden Bay has a beautiful beach and is a great place to watch the sunset.

Polite, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel building is warm and cozy even when the winds are blowing outside which is regularly. The food was amazing and top quality, locally sourced ingredients, they have an amazing selection of whisky's available.

Came for dinner one cold winters night after exploring Slains castle ruins 3 mins away. Beautiful service, exceptional food - the steak pie was standout.
